The study of ecological and evolutionary processes is necessary to understand and conserve biodiversity. This belief, combined with an interest in natural history, has guided me as a researcher and individual; I hope to help answer interesting questions in ecology while addressing conservation issues.
I am a Master's student in the Applied Conservation Macroecology Lab (ACME) at the University of Victoria, co-supervised by Drs. Jason Fisher and Eric Higgs. Prior to joining The School of Environmental Studies, I obtained my BSc Honours in Biology from the University of British Columbia in 2019. These academic pursuits are made in preparation for a research career. I grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, but credit my time in the Southern Gulf Islands for instilling in me a love for nature. Beyond research, I enjoy photography, poetry and baking, and I would practice all three of those activities whilst camping if possible. I am happiest in nature's elements, but also am happy to manipulate elements in a dataframe (so long as I've had coffee). |
